Biarpun usaha berterusan pemimpin-pemimpin UMNO memperbodohkan rakyat
kapitalis tak mungkin mahu mengorbankan walau 6% keuntungannya demi
rakyat yang diperintah kerajaan korup..
PETALING JAYA, June 8 — Malaysians can expect a hike in the prices of even items that are exempted from the impending Goods and Services Tax (GST) to be implemented next April, a customs representative said in a talk today.
According to the senior assistant director of the Royal Malaysian Customs Department, the increase would be the result of suppliers passing on their costs to the consumers, instead of absorbing it themselves.
This is because GST-exempt items will still be taxed at the supply level but retailers cannot charge the tax to customers.
“So when it comes to services and goods which belongs to this category, may I remind everybody that there will be some increase in price,” said Chin Jek Bin in a talk for small and medium business owners at the Customs complex here.
“For the simple reason… the supplier he himself pays GST. But the government says that you cannot claim back because [for] your service, you don’t have to charge GST.”
Among items which will be exempted from GST are residential properties, financial services, education, childcare, healthcare, and public transportation.
Najib also said last month that Putrajaya is looking into adding more items into the GST-exempt list.
In addition to the exempted items, there are those categorised as “zero-rated supply”, which refers to items that are liable for GST, but are charged a nil rate at the point of purchase.
After just two days of debate, the controversial GST Bill was passed in April in Dewan Rakyat, the lower house of parliament, with 119 votes for and 81 votes against.
The Bill also went through the committee stage reading with no amendments, ensuring that the consumption tax starts at a flat rate of six per cent beginning April 1 next year ~ The Malay Mail
Jadi bersedialah kita semua menanggung tambahan 6% lagi peningkatan harga barang..
Kerana bodohnya mereka seluruh rakya Malaysia menanggung beban..
